Welcome to the 2nd Annual Walk Run Stroll Event!

The Flyers Alumni Association and The Flyers Warriors are dedicated to giving back to the Delaware Valley
communities through local charitable giving, volunteerism, and community involvement.
It is events like the Walk Run Stroll that help us raise funds to maximize our ability to provide
the greatest impact possible to worthy causes and those in need.

The event and the course are unique as participants will travel past the barracks area in which the
Continental Army was housed. The route will then traverse along the path in which
General George Washington, and his troops marched before crossing the
Delaware River into Trenton in Durham boats.

AS ALWAYS, WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

The Flyers Alumni Walk • Run • Stroll is an Extremely Unique Course

We have three different course lengths in which you can participate: a 5k walk/run and a 1k event that we call the “Family Stroll Through History.”

The starting line is located where the troops slept prior to the march to cross the Delaware. The route then passes close to the Washington’s Crossing Memorial and then within a stone’s throw of the Unknown Soldier Memorial and ultimately returns to the starting point of the event.

The Cause

Whether you participate in the 1K or the 5k at the 2023 Walk.Run.Stroll, you will literally be walking in the footsteps of American history. The unique event course traverses the same path that General George Washington and his troops in the Continental Army walked before embarking in Durham boards to cross the Delaware River to surprise the Hessian mercenaries in Trenton.

When you walk on the scenic out-and-back route, keep in mind that Continental Army faced numerous hardships from both the elements and terrain. Nearly 250 years later, the modern-day course mapped out for the Walk • Run • Stroll is still rustic and challenging.

There may be water on the course. Additionally, sections of the towpath are narrow. That is part of what makes the course unique compared to other events in which you’ll participate. Additionally, there is two-way participant traffic on the course.

The objective here is not to set a record time. Rather, it’s to take in the atmosphere of Washington Crossing, enjoy running or walking the course and take in the historic importance of the area.

The event will take place rain or shine. No refunds or transferring of registrations are allowed.
